Even most veterinarians know very little about canine nutrition. To graduate from veterinary medical school requires only 3 hours of study in nutrition! ONLY THREE HOURS are required! Only a veterinarian that continues their study in nutrition is knowledgeable about nutrition.
What Does It Mean To Be An Expert In Canine Nutrition?
It is important here to be precise when you define non-academic researcher. Unfortunately, I’ve seen people claim to be researchers by spending time reading things on the internet. They are equating time spent reading things on the internet with the necessary training for actual research.
There is no equivalence between reading what you please on the internet and going through years of rigorous research. Research through veterinary medical school libraries, journals, and other scientific study articles and journals.
Most of the publications that I have studied can’t be found on the internet. Not unless you are a researcher researching medical nutrition or a member of that university. I worked part-time at a veterinary hospital. There I had access to many university medical textbooks and the K-State University medical school library. Because of that I also had access to other university medical textbooks and libraries.
